2011

So I just finished up going through a few of my, literally, hundreds of pictures from over the holidays and wanted to put some of them up while I have a few minutes. I suppose I'm doing things a bit backwards by posting on the New Year when I haven't even posted on our Christmas but things have been hectic...like, completely.ridiculously.don't-know-where-the-week-has-gone hectic. I was a stay-at-home mom (SAHM) for years and I always agreed with people who said SAHMs have the hardest job, but I have since learned  (through experience) that's complete bullshit. I know SAHMs have a tough job but imagine the working mother who has 2ish hours each day to do what the SAHM does in 15ish hours each day. I even have a nanny who comes to the house in the morning to wake the kids up, get them ready for school, make them breakfast and drive them to school. Then, when school lets out, she picks them up, does their homework with them and starts dinner if we need her to, and even with her help, I'm still trying to find a balance of work and home. Therefore, I can't image how life would be if we didn't have Katlyn (our nanny), I would probably ram my head into a wall on a nightly basis or just ball up in the corner in the fetal position crying. And I definitely can't image how tough it would be for the work-from-home mom, like, the one who has a legitimate 9-5 that they have to perform IN the house WITH the children IN the house at the same time, holy shit, I need a shot of vodka just thinking about such a catastrophe. Anyway, all of this leads me to some of the pictures we took during the much needed Holiday Break .

Anyhow, the following pictures are from New Years Eve day and New Years Eve. Owen devoured Papa's barbeque chicken like there was no tomorrow. And Drake whipped out a green top hot that I thought was for St. Patrick's Day but, much to my chagrin, it was for our New Year's festivities. He even put on some glasses, pulled his shorts to his armpits and gave me his best...er...worst impression possible. Ethan learned to ride his RipStick and Ari befriended Krissy's cat.  We played Wii a lil tipsy, watched the ball drop, hugged, kissed, and went outside to light sparklers. New Years Eve contained all the things I live for. <3

Mid-bite with BBQ sauce on his face.
He went back to eat more chicken three different times in one night.  :)

Loved this ornament on Papa's tree
