Eleven-O-Seven

Well, it's official, as of 11/07/11 the hubs and I have been married for three years! Count 'em - THREE! That seems like a lot to me for some reason. Though it doesn't feel as if we've been married that long. I feel like I've known him forever but it only seems as if we just got married. Idk, weird huh? It's tough to explain. But anyway, anniversary number three and we've been apart for two of them. Our first anniversary we were together. Then year number two hubby was gone to IFS (initial flight screening) and this year he's in CSO training. *sigh* We can't catch a break.

Anyway, last year when I realized we'd be apart on our actually anniversary I wanted to do something special for him. So I made him a video. You see, I have an obsession with my Hubby's face. I could stare at him for absolutely no reason at all. When I glance at him I linger a bit longer than the normal glance. I look at him sometimes and just catch myself staring. It borders on creepy - I plan on joining a support group.

I share with you my Creepy McCreeperton side because every time the two of us are apart overnight I miss him terribly and the 'S' word comes up. Get your mind out of the gutter, I'm referring to 'Skype.' He teases me for being so obsessed with Skyping him constantly. "My face hasn't changed," he tells me. But those words don't ease my stalker(ish) tendencies. So for me, it just seemed natural to make him a video when we were apart on our anniversary last year. So I did. And can you guess what else we did? Yep, we Skyped.

This year, I followed tradition and made another video, which didn't get finished until a few days ago, do the math and you'll know it was a late gift, but fear not, he received another gift on time. I was gonna record a song that reminded me of us but then decided to break out "Blackbird" by the Beatles because it's the first song I learned on guitar (special to me) and he digs the Beatles (special to him). The idea of me singing for his present is a bit of an inside joke because I'll sing to him throughout any given day and then I say, "Like a bird baby, admit it, I sing like a bird." At which point he quickly replies, "Yep, just like a bird Love, like a dying seagull." Bahahaha.  Then I hit him... and then he tackles me... and then the dog jumps on us, etc, etc. Typical day in the Rumbarger house.

So here's to you Love. Here's to you putting up with my shit. Here's to you loving me through thick and thin, for believing in me, for fighting for me, for helping me battle one of the toughest illnesses there is to beat, for continuing to help me through that struggle on a regular basis, for being my reason, for loving me, for being mine. Here's to you, Love. And here's to us.

Did you like my totally mediocre voice and equally average guitar skills? What about the notes I completely sang wrong near the beginning and my mishap on the guitar near the end, to which I rolled my eyes.
Do ya'll do anything sappy on your Anniversary? Tomorrow I'll post what else I got him (in addition to the video) and also what he got me for this year's anniversary. I'll give you a hint: we call it, "The Great Anniversary Challenge" and we've decided that it will be a tradition we do every year.

Xo,

Lor
