Air's Chair

Yesterday I shared Ariana's new desk and the tweaks I made to it. Then I told you about her chair makeover - I used one of our old dining chairs. I bought two new ones a few months ago and held on to the old ones because I knew they'd come in handy. I bought them off Craigslist over a year ago for $10 a piece, then I recovered the seats with new fabric and painted them a blue color. It worked for the moment but I ended up not loving the look. Don't get me wrong, it's not a terrible look but I wasn't sold.

To make the chair work with the decor in her room I covered it with gray fabric that I had on hand. I covered a lamp shade with the same fabric months ago and absolutely love it.

And here it is on the chair.

I painted the majority of the chair with an off-white color paint that I had left over from painting the living room. Then I pulled pink into the chair by painting the legs to look as if they were dipped in paint and gave the back of the chair a little splash of pink too. Best part? It was a free makeover. Woot!

I think the desk and chair are my favorite piece of furniture in her room so far.

I think Jersey and Owen agree as well.
