Momma and Ana: The Color Run

Ana and I did the Color Run together. Just us girls. It was so. very. fun. We started out pumped, clean, and donning some war paint two cute little girls were putting on everyone. They were rubbing their hands in some chalky type stuff then drawing on everyone.

Ariana is standing on the chalky type stuff to give you a visual, since chalky type stuff isn't a universal term, just a Rumbarger term. I'm tellin' ya, we're gonna write our own family dictionary one day.

Ari spotted one of her friends at the race. So they took off running from jump. But they were haulin' ass so I opted to stay back. Slow and steady wins the race, right? Yes. Nod your head yes.

Finally, my tortise of a self caught up with the two hares because...wait for it...they started walking because they were tired. So we finished it out together.

And let me tell you, it was messy. A fun messy though. Passing by the folks that were throwing the color was always fun. The first time I made the mistake of turning to Ariana and saying, "Keep your mouth closed as you run past them." And what happened? I was running past the color throwing people as I said that so I ended up with color in my mouth. That's what happens when a large man launches a hunk of color at the side of your head. It ends up everywhere. Mouth, nose, toes. Yep, it ended up in places that didn't seem possible. I've said too much.

I forgot to wipe of the camera part of my phone so the photo below is smeared in gunk.

But getting messy was half the fun. The other half was hanging out with my favorite gal.

And to finish it all up all the runners threw a cup of color in the air, ya know, just in case we weren't messy enough as it was. It was a nice way to wrap up a fun, fun race.

Momma and Ana: Nail Marbling

Alas, folks, an episode of Momma and Ana. I’ll let the video do most of the talking but I should point out a few things first:

·       We don’t do a wardrobe change in the midst of the video. Ha. Actually, we recorded this over a two day period because 1. We got more nail polish and 2. I must not have recorded our intro so we had to redo it the next day

·         We love music in our house, which leads to random dancing, so at the end of the video I pieced together all the moments where we busted a move during the nail marbling process

·         We random sing in our family. I call it ‘random conversational singing’ because it’s not as if we are singing along with a song. Instead, we may be in the midst of a sentence and then just decide to sing the rest of it. Example: “Could you bring me the laundry? *now in a sing-songy voice* because I need to wash the funkiness out!”

·         We say weird things like ‘funkiness’

·         My head is out of frame again. I finally realized it wasn’t my videographer skills (or lack thereof) it’s because when I import the video to iMovie I pick widescreen so it changes the recorded version. Lesson learned.

That’s enough. On with the video…

And here's a few still photos since our video was a bit grainy. Although, I forgot to white balance so the color is a bit off. Grr. Ha.

Hope ya'll enjoyed watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.

Happy Hump Day,

Lor

Testing, Testing...

1, 2, 3...

Excuse us while we have technical difficulties with our first edition of Momma & Ana. We recorded it with a camera that I rarely use, and we are in the process of packing our house for our move next week, therefore things are chaotic, and I love every bit of it, but in the midst of the unpredictability that is better known as life in the Rumbarger house, I have misplaced the cord to that camera that I mention gets hardly any use. So until that's found, we will have no video.

If it makes you feel any better though, it was a lot of fun to make. So hopefully it will be just as much fun for ya'll to watch (once I find that darn cord). I will let you know that the video has to do with food. Oh, and there's dancing, lots and lots of dancing, but that's how we get down in our house - we dance for reasons most wouldn't even raise an eyebrow for. We dance if Owen picks out his own pajamas, we dance when I get home from work, or if I one of us has to potty we can often be found singing, "I gotta...go...pee...I'll be. right. back!" All while dancing down the hall to the bathroom.

So yeah, you have that to look forward to.

Until then....

*Cue Kesha's laugh* ...Dance.

Momma & Ana (Part 1: Introduction)

Ariana and I have a fun little announcement to make. I'll let the video do all the explainin'...enjoy!

Note: I just noticed my head is half out of the shot the majority of the video - I vow to work on my videographer skills :)

Xoxo,

Lorri
