Anatomy of an Apple Lover

Source: aussieapples.com.au

Granny Smith to be exact. Jk. But seriously.

I mention my love of Apple because look what just came in the mail…

Shazam! It’s an early Christmas gift from mi madre and padre.

We used to own Blackberry’s and PC’s. Not so much anymore. The switch, however, wasn’t intentional, things just progressed that way.

A few years ago the hubby replaced his Blackberry with an iPhone. I didn’t want one. I was content with my Blackberry. He got me an iPhone anyway. Men listen so well.

It was frustrating at first; learning a new phone, the different setup, having a touch screen. I wanted my Blackberry back. But eventually I got the hang of it and now I love me some iPhone (I have since bought Seth the new iPhone for his birthday but refuse to upgrade mine just yet).

Anyway, let's go even further back...back to the beginning, shall we? When I was a cheap, poor, college student I needed to print out an assignement for class one day. But being the cheapskate I was I didn’t want to buy replacement ink for my printer. So instead, I went to campus a few minutes early in order to print out my assignment at the computer lab. The only lab open at the time I got there was the 'Mac Lab.' No biggie – right?! I thought Macs were the same as PCs except sleek, shiny, white and purdy looking. WRONG!

I sat in front of an iMac for a solid 20 minutes looking for an ‘Internet Explorer’ icon,  glancing over at the girl’s screen to my right, too embarrased to ask for help, to see if I noticed her doing anything magical to make the internet work.  It wasn’t until I clicked every icon on the desktop that I discoved the internet browser was called ‘Safari.’

Less than a week later I bought myself a MacBook. I shit you not.

I had no clue how to use it other than you needed to click the 'Sarfari' button to get online. I got the hang of it quickly though, and I fell in love.

In comes the hubby. He had an HP laptop when we met. Then he messed with my Mac a time or two and also fell in love. So naturally, he bought a MacBook Pro. I rarely messed with his Pro and it was slightly different than my MacBook so I shyed away from it. But the hubby has a need to provide me with the newest, latest, electronic device.  So for my birthday last year he bought me a Pro. I love it.

Over the years we’ve accumulated other Apple products. The accumlation of said brand wasn’t intentionl however. For instance, the iTouch was a free gift when I bought my original MacBook. Ethan’s iPod shuffle was a gift from my brother, my nano was a Christmas gift back when I was a running fanatic and needed an MP3 player that didn’t skip, Seth’s nano came with him into our marriage and my iPad was an early Christmas gift.

"Pank" covers are an unintentional theme for me

He's so sassy tonight

So no, we did not intend to own 2 iPod Nano’s, an iPod shuffle, 3 iPhones, an iTouch, a MacBook, 2 MacBook Pros and an iPad, it just came to be. But I must say, we love us some Apple.

What about ya'll? Do you favor Macs or PCs? Do you love Apple products as much as us Rumbargers? I've learned that people either love Macs or hate 'em. I don't know about ya'll, but I'm on Team Apple.
