...shall we?
I planned to make the boys a corkboard for their plethora of art but I didn’t have a clear vision of what I wanted. What I did know was that I wanted to make it myself so that it wasn’t just your plain, run of the mill corkboard. So I sat on the idea for weeks, then one day while doing another project I had an idea…
I had these two boards (we’ll call them ‘boards’ for simplicity sake). These boards used to screw into our dresser on one end and then screw into our mirror that hung above our dresser on the other end, to attach our mirror to our dresser. When I gave the mirror the boot, the boards were obviously no longer needed so I stuck ‘em on the balcony thinking that they could come in handy some day. Enter my bright idea…
I stained the boards,
*here you can in this first photo the board on top and left is stained and the one on the bottom and right is not yet stained*
used my hot glue gun to glue some clothes pins on to them,
screwed them into the wall, and clipped the boys art on.
Ta-da. And the best part is that this project was free because I already owned the boards, glue, glue gun, clothes pins, stain, poly, and screws. Oh, and the art ;) Holla!
I like that we can easily switch out which art to display. And the stain matches their furniture perfectly.
Moving right along, I found this sign at Old Time Pottery a few weeks ago.
I saw it and had to buy it, even though I had no clue where I would put it at the time. I always tell the kids, “I love you to the moon and back” so it was only fitting that I put it in one of the children’s rooms.
On an unrelated note, I’ve been really good about finding deals lately - I bought two pairs of pants for Ariana $3.88 each! They were originally $14.99, I believe.

And the lamp shade that I bought (and modified with some red ribbon) for the boys’ floor lamp from yesterday was $10, marked down from $14, I think.
Lastly, I bought Ari a reasonably priced down comforter to go with her new duvet - I’m so excited to see how it looks on her bed but I'm waiting until I get her headboard done, which will hopefully be sometime this weekend. Her bed looks so sad without a headboard right now.
Wouldn’t you agree? I’m just happy that I found some great deals. Three cheers for sales, coupons, and free art displays.
Hip, hip, hooray!
