Fall is my favorite time of year. The crisp mornings, the cool nights, the short days, and the cozy evenings spent under blankets and in a house filled with kids, candles, and sweet smelling food. The crunching of the leaves as I walk to the mailbox at the end of the driveway. The crunching is so much and the sidewalk so cool to the touch that even I, a not so simple girl from the not so southern country, trade the bare feet for actual shoes - even if they are just flip flops. Don't judge.
Soccer is the one organized sport that the entire brood has in common so our weeks are full of practices, games, bruised legs, and one embarrassingly loud mom on the sidelines.
We have a tradition to make gingerbread houses at Christmas, so when we saw Halloween inspired houses we pounced on the chance to make one.
He's distraught over spilling half the purple icing on the table. But leave it to them to make due - they just used it like finger paint and drew it onto the gingerbread.
We made the orange icing a bit runnier and it worked out by making the house look creepy with all the drips. They ate as much candy as they decorated with, but that's the way you're supposed to do it - right?!
And just for fun, who doesn't like a silly mustache picture. I told them all to give me a serious look and this is what I got:
Looks pretty serious if you ask me!
