Veteran's Day

I'm glad we have Veteran's Day, I am, but I think it's ridiculous how everyone seems to only focus on those that have, are, and will serve on a single day, or during a time of crisis (Sept 11, for example). What happened to being grateful everyday to those serving? How come pictures of those with uniforms in their closet only get posted on certain days? I don't get it. I'm grateful daily for those that serve or have served. Being an Army brat I spent many a holidays apart from my father due to his commitment to the Army. There were days I'd cry because I just needed my Daddy. There were vacations and milestones he missed, all for his country. So how about those that want to publicly talk about how grateful they are to members of our military do it more often than a set holiday or promotion/pay raise. Please and thank you.

Now that half of you want to lynch me let's move on to something a little lighter...

Who is in the Armed Forces that you know? Owen's answer?...My grandfather be'd.

He's right. Poppa, at one point, be'd in the Army for over 20 years. We're stilling working on the grammar with my dear sweet boy.

Moving along, living in the UK he also wanted to mention that the British wear poppies for their veterans.

Point? Happy Veteran's Day everyday to those that have sacrificed so much to keep their countries protected.
